Awaken a New Appetite for What Grows in Puerto Rico
One of the problems that make most vulnerable the Puerto Rican population is food insecurity which is increasing potentially since the natural disasters and economic and fiscal crisis that Puerto Rico has faced in recent years. The biggest effect is on women, mostly heads of households from many rural and urban households around the island.
Visit Rico is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to the development of agriculture in Puerto Rico through education, health, and food security through organic, community, and urban agriculture. We strengthen the country's agricultural economy through sustainable agrotourism and agricultural education. Our goal is to achieve food sovereignty, essential for a healthy population.
